Nashville Meets London 2017 Saturday guide

The second annual Nashville Meets London festival takes place this weekend at Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf in London.

Building on last year’s hugely popular inaugural event, Nashville Meets London 2017 promises to be even bigger and better. Once again the action will take place over two days and best of all, it’s completely free!

We’ve put together a guide to the weekend for you and we’re kicking things off with the action taking place on Saturday.

Keep reading to find out more about the acts performing….

2 – 3.15pm – Raintown

Scottish country duo Raintown will open this year’s event and they’re no strangers to performing to large crowds. Part of the surge in UK country music gaining popularity, Raintown – Paul Bain and Claire McArthur-Bain – are a firm favourite at C2C: Country to Country and regularly play to packed out crowds. Their album Writing on the Wall garnered plenty of acclaim and they are sure to get Nashville Meets London off on the right foot.

3.45 – 4.30pm – Wildwood Kin

Family trio Wildwood Kin rose to fame when they collaborated with Seth Lakeman on his recent album. They signed a major label deal recently and will release their debut album Turning Tides on 18th August. New single Run is out now and the trio’s strength lies in their remarkable harmonies.

5 – 6.15pm – Kevin McGuire

Scottish singer-songwriter Kevin McGuire very much takes his inspiration from the contemporary Country sound. His latest single Alright, Tonight is an infectious slice of Country pop that has garnered plenty of radio play on the likes of Chris Country. We think Kevin is going to be huge and he’s sure to be a highlight of the festival this weekend.

6.45 – 8pm – Jo Smith

Singer-songwriter Jo Smith is an artist on the rise. She recently released her EP Introducing JoSMITH which was produced by Jesse Frasure who has worked with Thomas Rhett and saw co-writing with Shane McAnally. Nashville Meets London will be her first ever performance in the UK and as long as she performs Old School Groove, we’re sure she’ll be a huge hit.

8.30 – 10pm – Russell Dickerson

The headliner for Saturday is Russell Dickerson, who went to university with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley from Florida Georgia Line. He’s toured with Canaan Smith, David Nail, Billy Currington and many other big stars and he’s enjoyed a lot of attention thanks to his fantastic 2015 single Yours, taken from the forthcoming album of the same name. He may not be all that well known here in the UK but after his performance he’s sure to secure himself a big fanbase here!
