George Michael to release Symphonica album

George Michael will release new album Symphonica on 17th March it has been confirmed.

The album takes the name of George’s 2011 and 2012 tours and was produced by Phil Ramone alongside George himself. The album’s lead single Let Her Down Easy will be released digitally on the same day with a music video directed by Vaughan Arnell.

Symphonica will be released as a hardback deluxe, 17-track CD edition; a standard 14-track CD; a standard 14-track digital version and on pure audio Blu-Ray through Virgin EMI/Universal Music Group.

George’s new album sees him revisit selected highlights from his back catalogue with new arrangements plus interpretations of songs by some of his favourite artists. Covers on the record include George’s takes on Ewan MacColl’s The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Terence Trent D’Arby’s Let Her Down Easy and Nina Simone’s My Baby Just Cares For Me.
