EF’s top 5 events in Ibiza 2016

Finally, after years of cruising the club scene in London and partying at dance festivals I am finally popping my Ibiza club cherry. Indeed next week EF will be in Ibiza and I’ll be reporting on my adventures. Unless you’ve been living under a rock since the eighties you will know that the small Balearic island is famous for its party scene and has become a pied a terre for wold renowned DJs. Avicii for examples has chosen to finish his live career in Ibiza and Carl Cox will also be ending his residency at Space!

Ibiza is also a place where famous A-listers choose to spend their summer holidays and you can see why with world-renowned super clubs such as Pasha, Space and Amnesia taking center stage.

I am adequately excited of course, and have been doing some research ahead of my trip next week and below are my top tips / wish list for the week ahead! Continue reading for more…

Carl Cox at Space

I am not a big fan of chart famous DJs and tend to find them (for the most part) too poppy instead I rather stick to the classics. Ibiza does offer both options and I am firmly determined to make the most of it. This year will mark the end of Carl Cox’s 15-year residency at Space. This is huge and having come back from Glastonbury and enjoyed the man’s set, I think this will be one of the best places to party at this summer! If you want big bass and banging tunes this is the place to be.

Paradise at DC10

DC 10 isn’t one of the super-clubs of Ibiza but (I hear) what it lacks in size it makes up for in beats. If you’ve been out in London clubs then DC10 will make you feel right at home, this place is a sweatbox and ravers that come here are experienced dancers who seek an intense night out. Next week Jamie Jones, who curates the night will be joined by Joseph Capriati and Eats Everything to name a few. Other nights at Paradise will see the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Steve Lawler, Ame and the Black Madonna take center stage. I am excited and can’t wait to see if all the hype is real.

Afterlife with Tale of Us at Space

Tale of Us have gathered quite a reputation over the years and this is very well deserved. The duo are famous for putting up great visuals and have a really impressive way of building up their sets. This summer they will be joined by the likes of Ame, Nina Kraviz, Bob Moses and Todd Terje. Afterlife is a collection of artists from Life and Death, Innervisions and Dystopian.

Glitterbox at Space

If you want different thrills and want to go a little bit crazy then Glitterbox is the place to be, anything from cabaret to feathers and impressive installations can be found at Glitterbox. This event is for everyone who likes a bit of disco and extravagance and I am going to be there with my bells on! This year’s line-up includes the likes of Roger Sanchez, Nightmares on Wax, Purple Disco Machine and David Morales.

ANTS at Ushuaia

ANTS gave me one of the best nights of 2016, when the group decided to head to London for one epic party. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to party with them again and this time in style by a pool. I couldn’t go to Ibiza and not have a pool party and so what better way to do it but with ANTS! This year the line-up includes Andrea Oliva, Maya Jane Cole, Groove Armada, Pete Tong and many, many more!

That’s it for me but there are many more parties to discover but for that there will be another time. See you on the other side with dancing shoes!
