Day 2 of C2C: Country To Country has kicked off and Kip Moore will kick the main stage into action later this afternoon.
The rising country star has achieved impressive success with his debut album Up All Night, which was recently re-released here in the UK with several bonus tracks. Ahead of his main stage performance, Kip took some time to speak to the press.
Talking about his journey to success Kip admitted, āMy journey was such a long journey. Music took over around the time I was 17. I got my first guitar and was playing constantly. I didnāt want to play other peopleās music, I wanted to play my own music.ā
Has he always known that he wanted to be a musician? āI realised I wasnāt going to be fulfilled unless I was doing music. Iāve learned a lot about myself in solitude. I learned that it would have been a fight for the rest of my life if I hadnāt done music.ā
Discussing how heās feeling ahead of his C2C and UK debut Kip said, āIāve been secretly dreaming of coming over here for a long time. Iām a passionate person and I have to be surrounded by passionate people. Iām finally here so it means everything to me.ā
Today marks Kipās first time performing in the UK but heās already planning his return. āI can feel that somethingās happening with us over here. Weāre not trying to follow a curveā¦weāre doing our own thing. Weāre trying to figure out when the best time is to come back.ā
Kip also talked about his belief in doing his own thing rather than conforming to the current trends. āPeople are scared of things that are different. They want what they know works. When youāre outside of that formula people may believe in it but will quickly lose their backbone.ā
He went on to explain that that hasnāt always made his journey an easy one. But he was always confident heād make it. āDestiny is one of those things where you feel like youāve known something for a long time. Even when I was poor as poor can be ā I felt like I was going to die some nights ā and I moved to town itās all I wanted (to be an artist). I always knew where I was going. So yes Iām surprised but more than that Iām grateful.ā
Kip Moore will perform on the C2C main stage later today.
