Since Carrie Underwood won American Idol in 2005 sheās gone on to be one of the most successful winners of the show selling millions of records, picking up a ton of awards, and dominating the charts.
Following her win, Carrie has gone from strength-to-strength with her popularity increasing over time. Sheās established herself as a consistent seller as well as an impressive live vocalist. Carrie is currently on the road with her Storyteller tour in the US where she is being supported by Easton Corbin and The Swon Brothers. The tour is her fifth headline tour and sheās picking up widespread acclaim.
Carrie was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008 and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2009. Her awards tally includes 7 Grammys, 17 Billboard Music Awards, 11 Academy of Country Music Awards and 9 American Music Awards. Pretty impressive considering the music industry can be quite snooty when it comes to recognising the achievements of artists that found their platform on a reality TV show.
On the charts Carrie has enjoyed 13 solo number ones and sheās hit the top of the charts with her Brad Paisley duet Remind Me and her Miranda Lambert collaboration Somethinā Bad, taking her overall tally to 15. To date Carrie has sold over 65 million records and all five of her studio albums have topped the US Country Chart, with her first four certified at least platinum. Her 2014 Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album also topped the US Country Chart.
In the UK Carrie is one of the few modern Country stars to make any impact on the charts. Her 2012 album Blown Away reached number 11 and her latest Storyteller peaked at 13. This yearās headline C2C: Country to Country performance will be her second, and sheās the first star to headline a day at the festival twice.
Carrie Underwood will perform at C2C: Country to Country at Londonās O2 Arena on Saturday 12th March 2016. Watch the music video for her hit Heartbeat below:
