5 things we expect from Kylie’s Kiss Me Once tour

We’re beside ourselves with excitement as it’s just one more sleep until the Showgirl, Kylie Minogue sashays onto the stage at Liverpool’s Echo Arena to kick off her Kiss Me Once Tour.  We’re going to have to wait a whole week for her to get to London before we see it, but it got us thinking and reminiscing about what we expect, nay demand of Ms Minogue and her gang.

1. A Big Entrance!

To make the concert go off with a bang you’ve got to grab people from the get-go, something that Kylie has done on every tour.  From the time we saw her emerge as some sort of plastic coated, robot bathed in white light for Let’s Get To It, floating suspended in a giant gold ring high above the stage or popping up in a giant clam shell, Kylie never fails to disappoint.

Here she is descending on to the stage by way of giant anchor for the opening of her ‘On A Night Like This’ Tour

2. Special guests

Just who will Kylie get on stage to sing ‘Kids’ with her this time?  Could we see Keith Washington flown in especially for ‘If You Were With Me Now’ or perhaps Enrique will appear to sing ‘Beautiful’ with her?  In the past she’s had Robbie Williams, Bono and sister Dannii all join her on stage.  We’re hoping for Madonna and a brand new song….yeah we can but dream!

Here she is with sister Dannii belting out ‘Kids’

3. A surprise cover

Kylie always likes to throw in a cover at her shows and we’ve seen her do everything from Jackson 5 to ABBA, Eurythmics to Boy George – there does seem to be a rather camp theme running through them!  What can we expect to hear on this tour?  ‘It’s Raining Men’ or ‘I Will Survive’?  We’ll just have to wait and see.

Here’s Barry Manilow’s ‘Copacabana’ from the X Tour with moves that wouldn’t be out of place on Strictly!

4. Die hard fan favourites

With a huge repertoire of hit singles, it must be hard for Kyles and co to pick which songs will make it on to the set list but one thing that she never fails to do is sneak in the odd song (at very least a snippet or reference) to keep the die hard fans happy.

From ‘GBI’ on the Fever Tour to ‘Ruffle My Feathers’ on the X Tour, here’s one of our personal faves ‘White Diamond’ from the Showgirl Tour.

5. Cute dancers!

More of this please!

Roll on next week!
