Green Man festival day 3

Set in the beautiful Brecon valley in Wales and surrounded by stunning hills, Green Man festival’s setting is probably one of the most breath taking we’ve seen this year. And if that doesn’t do it for you then the line-up just might, The Horrors, Band of Horses, Ben Howard and Kings of Convenience were all on the bill plus much more in terms of up and coming music which Green Man pride themselves at championing.

A sunny third day made sure spirits were high for the last leg of the festival and was also to most exciting to us with artists we waited to see (again) this summer. Sunday indeed was packed with a heavyweight line-up consisting of the likes of British Sea Power, Local Natives, Ben Howard, Johnny Flynn and The Sussex Wit, Stornoway, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Public Service Broadcasting and many more. We couldn’t have been more excited and our day started with a very exclusive acoustic set from Local Natives in the press area. Being huge fans of the band we felt the small gig was the prefect start to the final day of the festival. We then ventured into the site where we saw Early Ghost on the Green Man Rising. This little stage was set in a small corner of the festival and only featured up and coming acts, which big and small festivalgoers were enjoying.

The day just kept on getting better with an electric performance from London based duo Public Service Broadcasting, who took the stage at The Walled Garden and completely blew the audience away with their huge sound and cool broadcasts. Certainly doing things differently this band is set for a great future. Local Natives went on to perform on the Mountain stage to a huge crowd, which seemed delighted by their set and so were we. The festivalgoers that needed something a little louder headed to the Far Out stage where veteran rockers Swans tore the tent apart with their soaring guitars and massive drum set! The night belonged to Ben Howard though who pulled a huge crowed and seemed truly emotional to be playing the main stage at Green Man, the festival that he played so many times welcomed him once more with huge applause. We loved hearing Only Love and Wolves and with that our time at the festival ended.

Green Man festival took us by surprises we weren’t expecting anything as enjoyable and entertaining as this. We are definitely coming back next year and suggest you do to…
