Robert Lonsdale is best-known for his acting work but the talented chap is currently showing off his musical abilities too on stage in From Here To Eternity on the West End. Heās using the opportunity to kick-start his music career by releasing a track from the show as his debut single. Fight The Fight is one of the standout tracks from the musical but does it have the crossover appeal to make it a chart hit?
Fight The Fight was written by Sir Tim Rice and composer Stuart Brayson, and has been given a little bit of a makeover for the single release. The track isnāt a typical musical number and instead sounds more like a pop/folk track of the like youād expect from Mumford and Sons. Fight The Fight has a driving beat that combines with acoustic melodies for something quite unexpected. Lonsdale has a husky but powerful voice that soars over the top of the instrumentation and showcases him as someone who could easily crossover into the mainstream charts. The fact that heās easy on the eye is sure to help increase his burgeoning fanbase too.
From Here To Eternity has been receiving strong reviews since it debuted and with songs like Fight The Fight weāre not surprised. Lonsdale is definitely someone you should keep an eye on and for a debut single Fight The Fight has everything going for it. We look forward to hearing more from this talented chap as the year progresses and weāll definitely be booking our tickets to see him in action on the West End stage.
