Midnight Juggernauts – Memorium single review

Since forming in Melbourne in 2004, the Midnight Juggernauts have forged a unique path and style to their music, which they refuse to be boxed into by genre or expectation. They are one of the few Australian bands who have gone global and they are still going strong, producing some fine and unique tracks.

Memorium is a psychedelic, floaty, sci-fi pop tinged number, which slowly seeps into your brain. The track is quite hypnotising, although after a few listens it has started to make us feel a bit sea-sick, perhaps its the way the music washes over us in waves and its repetitive beats – in a good way.

A minute into the track has some cool digital beats and we love the quirky little troughs that pop up now and then throughout the track, the unexpected musical peaks add a lot of quirkiness to the song. The lyrics are quite simple, rhythmic and they are sung with the truly unique style of the Midnight Juggernats. All in all, this is a very cool one-off track.
