Luke Bryan – Crash My Party album review

Luke Bryan is one of the leading male country artists in the world. With every album he releases he out-sells his previous one and in his career to date heā€™s had three number 1 albums, four numbers one single on the US Country chart and heā€™s topped the US Country Airplay chart a staggering 10 times. His latest album Crash My Party was released in 2013 and has already sold over 2.4 million copies in the US alone. Ahead of his headline appearance at C2C: Country To Country in London this March, Luke is releasing an International Tour Version of Crash My Party.

The new edition of the album features the original tracklist along with 2 tracks from his Spring Break EP, and 4 additional tracks. Crash My Party features six number one singles ā€“ Crash My Party, Thatā€™s My Kind of Night, Drink a Beer, Play It Again, Roller Coaster and I See You ā€“ and has been Bryanā€™s most successful studio album to date. The record contains a mixture of sounds all with a commercial edge that clearly is working for country radio in the US.

Crash My Party opens with Thatā€™s My Kind of Night, one of the strongest tracks on the album, kicking things off with an uptempo rock-tinged gem. Once that track ends Bryan explores a variety of sounds over the course of the generous 19 tracks. Title track Crash My Party and highlight Drink a Beer show the more sensitive side of Bryan, as well as showcasing some of the best vocals on the record, whilst tracks such as Out Like That prove he can rock with the best of them.

The majority of Crash My Party sits in the mid-tempo range and showcases the heart and honesty thatā€™s always at the centre of Bryanā€™s albums. Dirt Road Diary is an autobiographical tale that sees Bryan wearing his heart on his sleeve, Goodbye Girl is a tale about a girl who flits in and out of Bryanā€™s life, and Blood Brothers highlights the importance of good friends.

The four ā€˜newā€™ tracks on the album first appeared on the Deluxe Edition of Crash My Party sold exclusively in Target stores in the US. The highlights are the punchy Sunburnt Lips and the lilting Your Mama Shouldā€™ve Named You Whiskey. The album closes with She Get Me High and Good Lookinā€™ Girl which are both taken from Bryanā€™s Spring Break 6 EP. Both tracks fit seamlessly with the rest of the album and close the album on a high note.

The appeal of Luke Bryan is obvious. Heā€™s the kind of down-to-earth guy that men want to be buddies with and women want to marry. Crash My Party appeals to every kind of country music lover and Bryan certainly knows how to cater to his target audience. This reissue is perfect for those just discovering his talents or those who want to brush up on his music before going to see his headline set at C2C next month.

Luke Bryan will perform at C2C: Country To Country 2015 at Londonā€™s O2 Arena on Saturday 7th March 2015. For more information and tickets head over to http://www.c2c-countrytocountry.com. Watch the lyric video for Luke’s single I See You below:
