Following the release of their critically acclaimed album All Our Favourite Stories and just ahead of their headline tour, Dog Is Dead are now releasing their new single Do The Right Thing. The track is a live favourite and came as a natural choice for the band. We had a listen and here are our thoughts.
Do The Right Thing kicks off with a joyful melody on a piano that sets the tone of the single. The track becomes slightly edgier during its bridge but essentially Do The Right Thing is quite stripped down for a Dog Is Dead song. It works though the simplicity of the track makes it sound quite summery and once you hit the chorus you are swept away. The single is very well put together and you don’t get bored at any point.
Do The Right Thing is a good single and perfect for this season. Dog Is Dead have had a pretty good start of the year and undoubtedly will catch them on the festival circuit until then this single should keep us going.
