Black Manila – Shake That Thing single review

Black Manila comes hailing from Sound London. The punk trio has spent a few years perfecting its music and is now ready to release first single Shake That Thing. The band’s music is a blend of garage rock & roll with a touch of that South London sound. We heard the single and here is what we thought.

Shake That Thing kicks off strong with some soaring vocals that grip you and a blues and rock & roll sound. The track is quite mellow to start with and seems pretty tame for the trio. On the upside Shake That Thing has a summery vibe to it that’s quite enjoyable but on the downside even though the track barely lasts three minutes it feels like it’s dragging a little.

Black Manila’s new single is quite slow in comparison to other material from the band. We do like it even if it feels a little long for a short track. We do think Black Manila is a good band with a lot of potential so we’ll keep our ears peeled for new material.
