Angel – The World single review

Sirach Charles is better knows as his stage name of Angel. He is a born and bred Londoner, hailing from West London and he is a singer/songwriter/producer and rapper. Angel started his musical journey at an early age, singing in a band with his brothers and sisters, who went by the name of the Charles Family and they performed to hundreds of schools, before they decided to take their own musical paths. Angel has had a lot of hits under his belt, by writing for other artists, including co-writing the number 1 single Green Light by Roll Deep, with his writing team Parallel, which sold in excess of 400,000 copies in the UK.

Angel is now unleashing his next track, with a song called The World. The song starts off with Angel’s rich and warm vocals dominating the track and it’s a very distinct and soulful sound. The song trickles along and ticks the boxes of a soul, r’n’b and pop mash-up. This is until about 1 minute into the track, where we start to hear the rhythm of a few dance beats seeping and trickling quietly in the background, which really picks up to be clearly heard at around 1 minute 40 seconds and then gives us a good 20 second dance solo, which gives the song a completely different feel and it makes it stand out. We have r’n’b, soul, pop and dance within a few short minutes. Therefore, this song is also a bit of a dance record!

The song is very slickly arranged and produced, to the highest level. We were very surprised however to find out that Angel is from West London, as the vocals throughout the track sound as if he is American – the sound is a very rich, American accent. The song has an extremely strong commercial feel and we could see this track being a global smash as it is up-beat and catchy and it’s a very polished sound. This is a very exciting offering from Angel, which will broaden his fan base, as the track ticks so many different genres, but keeps its integrity and maintains his cool edge.
