Questionary review

Questionary is a new entertainment quiz game from French developer and publisher, Kobojo. The game is available on iOS, Android and Facebook for free along with the option to purchase premium content. We’ve been mainly playing the game on iPad.

If you’ve played SongPop or Draw Something then you’ll have an idea of what to expect from Questionary. The game follows a very similar format where you can challenge friends or random players. The difference here is that you’re competing for the highest score on general knowledge questions rather than your musical knowledge or artistic capabilities.

The game itself is a mix of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Wheel of Fortune. You can opt to play as a guest or sign in with Facebook. Once an opponent has been found the game presents you with a wheel that features four catagories. Here you can spin the wheel to see which category you will be asked questions on.

Questionary

The game comes with categories such as Celebrities, Olympics, TV Shows, Soundtracks and Comedy. More categories can be unlocked by spending coins earned through play or bought via microtransactions. The game also lets you change the categories on the wheel or respin by spending stars. Stars can be won through the weekly competition, bought via microtransactions or earned by signing up to certain offers on websites. As well as microtransactions there are some in-game adverts which help the developers keep the game free.

Once a game begins you are given five questions each with four possible answers. Your aim is to choose the correct answers as quickly as possible. Your time to answer correctly is converted into a score. If you are stuck you can spend stars to remove 2 incorrect answers, call for an audience vote or even double your score if you get the answer right.

Questionary

For each question you answer correctly you are rewarded with a fun fact related to the question which can help increase your knowledge. Your score is then compared to your opponent and the winner is declared. This is basically all there is to the game.

Questionary is a well put together game and fun to play in short bursts. It can get quite addictive when you come up against opponents of similar knowledge and is hard to put down. If you enjoy quiz games then you should definitely check it out.
