Christmas 2017 is just around the corner so it’s about time you start thinking of what gifts to buy for friends and family. Xbox One games are likely to feature on many wishlists this year and there’s a fantastic choice of multiplatform titles and exclusive titles to choose from.

If you’re buying for an Xbox One gamer this year then one of the best choices would be a console exclusive title to really show off their beloved console. We’ve picked ten of our favourite Xbox One exclusives below.

Cuphead

Age Rating: 3+
Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game that focuses heavily on boss battles. The game is inspired by cartoons of the 1930s and it looks and sounds absolutely stunning. Players take the role of Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as they traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves and discover hidden secrets. Don’t be fooled by it’s cute visuals, this is one insanely difficult game. It’s also one of our favourite releases of the year.

Forza Horizon 3

Age Rating: 3+
The third game in the series is the best and one of the essential titles for car racing fans. This time Australia is your playground with over 350 cars, 4-player online co-op and plenty of new modes to keep you entertained. The game is jam-packed with content and the Downloadable Content (DLC) on offer really expands the game in new and interesting ways. Forza Horizon 3 appeals to anyone who is a fan of racing games and not just the hardcore players.

Forza Motorsport 7

Age Rating: 3+
Regarded by many as the best racing title available on the Xbox One. Forza 7 is more suited to the hardcore racing fans that Horizon 3. This is a game that will keep serious racing fans busy until next Christmas. It features gorgeous visuals, insanely detailed cars, realistic physics and AI racers that will give you a run for your money.

Gears of War 4

Age Rating: 18+
A new trilogy kicks off and this time you take the role of JD Fenix, the son of Marcus Fenix. Featuring a brilliant campaign, 2-player local or online co-op and online versus multiplayer. A great choice for fans of the series or players who just love shooters. It’s one of the best looking games on the Xbox One.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Age Rating: 16+
After a troubled release three years ago, 343 Industries worked incredibly hard to put everything right. It’s one of the best value for money collections you can buy. Featuring Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 4, digital series Halo: Nightfall and you can also add-on Halo 3: ODST. After the campaign there are over 100 multiplayer maps to keep you busy online with friends and enemies. Essential for long-time Halo fans.

Halo 5: Guardians

Age Rating: 16+
Master Chief is back in this first new Halo game for Xbox One. This time he’s bringing his fellow Blue Team Spartan-IV’s. He’s also gone rogue so players will need to track him down with Jameson Locke and Osiris Team. Featuring 4-player online co-op and the best Halo multiplayer yet. The built in Forge level editor lets creative players build their own maps. An essential title for shooter fans.

Ori and the Blind Forest

Age Rating: 7+
One of the best platformer games around, Ori and the Blind Forest will captivate players with its beautiful artwork and stunning audio. There’s also a sequel on the way next year so if you haven’t picked up this one yet there’s no better time.

Quantum Break

Age Rating: 16+
One of the best looking games on any platform, Quantum Break features a stellar cast that includes Shawn Ashmore, Aiden Gillen and Dominic Monaghan. It’s part game, part TV show and your choices in-game affect the outcome of both. Brilliant.

 

ReCore: Definitive Edition

Age Rating: 12+
ReCore is by legendary creator Keiji Inafune and the makers of Metroid Prime. As one of the last surviving humans, players must build an army of Corebots to help save mankind. The Definitive Edition has expanded gameplay with new areas, more dungeons, new enemies and more. There’s also a new Tank Corebot and plenty of fixes and improvements over the original release.

Sunset Overdrive

Age Rating: 16+
The debut Xbox One title from Insomniac games. A contaminated energy drink has transformed the population into toxic mutants. The movement in Sunset Overdrive is incredible as you battle the mutants to save Sunset City. Great choice for action fans.
