Game of Thrones season 7 first look photos released

There’s now less than 3 months to wait until Game of Thrones season 7 finally arrives and we couldn’t be more excited. Earlier this month HBO continued to tease us with the first teaser trailer for the new season.

Now HBO are teasing us again with a first glimpse of many of the main characters from the new season. They’ve released 15 first look photos that give us an idea of what to expect.

The photos include Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) sat on the Iron Throne with brother Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) by her side. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Lord Varys (Conleth Hill), Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) arriving in Westeros.

There are also shots of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), The Hound (Rory McCann), Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams),

We’re excited to see what Samwell Tarly (John Bradley-West) and Gilly (Hannah Murray) get up to and also delighted to see Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey) is back. Finally there’s a fantastic shot of Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) and Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), are we still shipping them?

With such a large cast there are some characters that are noticeably absent. These include Melisandre (Carice van Houten), Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma), Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). We’re most keen to find out if Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) will play a part in the new season.

At the end of season 6 we listed the 10 things we want from Game of Thrones season 7.

Season 7 will feature just seven episodes. The show is then expected to conclude in 2018 with an eighth and final season of just six episodes. That’s right folks there’s only thirteen more episodes of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones season 7 begins on Sunday, July 16th 2017 at 9pm ET on HBO in the US and simultaneously at 2am on Monday, July 17th 2017 on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
