David Walliams to host the Jameson Empire Awards 2016

It should prove to be a memorable night now that David Walliams has been confirmed as the host of the Jameson Empire Awards 2016. Walliams will make his film awards hosting debut before an audience of star guests from the world of film and entertainment at the award ceremony in London on 20th March.

Walliams is the co-creator of the multi-award winning Little Britain, and has appeared in BBC series’ Capturing Mary and Rather You Than Me, along with appearing on the West End stage in No Man’s Land and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Walliams’ film credits include: The Look of Love, directed by Michael Winterbottom, Mike Newell’s Great Expectations and Stardust directed by Matthew Vaughn. As well as being an internationally best-selling children’s author, Walliams is currently writing a screenplay for DreamWorks Animation with director Edgar Wright.

Walliams commented on hosting the Jameson Empire Awards 2016…

“It’s a huge thrill to be hosting the Jameson Empire Awards. I have read the magazine for as long as I can remember and am super excited to find out which Hollywood stars are attending this year.”

Set to be the biggest yet with the introduction of 11 new categories spanning film, television and gaming, the Jameson Empire Awards will take place on Sunday March 20. As ever, the 21st annual awards will be voted for by the people, with film and entertainment fans across the world invited to cast their votes, making the Jameson Empire Awards a unique event.

The final nominations for the Jameson Empire Awards will be announced 18th February upon which the public will vote across all categories at www.empireonline.com/awards2016.
