The London Evening Standard British Film Awards took place last night at Television Centre in White City, London.
Presented by Simon Amstell, the awards celebrated a strong year for British cinema and film talent. The star-studded attendees included Agyness Dean, Idris Elba, Tuppence Middleton, Stanley Tucci, Matthew Perry, Vanessa Redgrave and Tom Courtenay.
Winners on the night included John Crowley’s Brooklyn, which picked up Best Film and Maggie Smith who picked up Best Actress for her performance in the critically acclaimed The Lady in the Van. Idris Elba walked away with Best Actor for his performance in Beasts of No Nation.
