South West Four: Noisia profile

In just over two weeks time South West Four, one of London’s biggest and best dance festivals will be opening its doors. This year the line-up is at its best with the likes of Chemical Brothers, Carl Cox, Rudimental, Andy C headlining.

Noisia is a Dutch trio, who has been making waves for a few years now with its blend of heavy drum and bass, breakbeat and dubstep. The trio is also an expert in sound design and use complex and intricate production techniques that create music that draws an unconstrained, palpable energy be it on the dancefloor or at a festival.

Noisia have most recently made the news because their latest album, Outer Edges was leaked online. This didn’t phase the band who proceeded to release the album early and released a statement about it.

Noisia is set to play Outer Edges live at South West Four this year. Noisia commented: “It’s called Outer Edges because it’s us exploring the outer edges of what Noisia, the three of us together, is. It’s about the idea that all the songs are little islands that we take to their individual edge… They’re all like expeditions to far sides. That doesn’t mean that it’s everything; it’s just that every song, if it goes in a certain direction, we’ve taken it all the way there. There are no real concessions – we haven’t been super DJ-friendly or radio-friendly at all. We’ve done no collaborations and hardly any vocals on the album.”

Their live show promises to be something quite special so don’t miss out!

Noisia will play Saturday at SW4 on the RAM stage.

South West Four takes place in Clapham Common, London between 27th and 28th August.
