Born on August 20^th, 1974 in Vicenza, Italy, Amy Lou is an American actress and singer who made her screen debut in the 1999 black comedy film Drop Dead Gorgeous alongside other stars to be Kirsten Dunst and Brittany Murphy. Her role in the low-budget independent film Junebug (2005), which was shot in a ridiculously short 21 days, was her big break. Her performance as Ashley Johnsten was named the 6th best performance of the decade in Paste Magazine’s 25 Best Movie Performances of the Decade.

The following year she was chosen from 300 actresses auditioning for the role of “Giselle” in the animated/live-action feature film, Enchanted (2007), which would prove to be her major break-through role. Her vivacious yet innocent portrayal allowed her to use her singing and dancing talents. Her performance garnered a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

Adams next appeared in the major production, Charlie Wilson’s War (2007), and went on to act in the independent film, Sunshine Cleaning (2008), which premièred at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Her role as “Sister James” in Doubt (2008) brought her a second Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, as well as nominations for a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild award, and a British Academy Film award.

Most recently she has starred in Trouble with the Curve alongside Academy award winner Clint Eastwood. In the film she plays his daughter and alongside Pete (John Goodman), goes on a trip to make sure he is okay.

Trouble with the Curve offers a poignant look at a father and daughter coming together again after years of a troubled relationship, with Eastwood starring as ageing baseball scout, Gus Lobel.  Gus’s daughter and hotshot lawyer Mickey (Adams) has never been close to her father, who was ill-equipped to be a single parent after the death of his wife, but is drawn into helping him as he is given one final chance to prove he can still hack it with his team.  Even now, in the rare moments they share, he is too easily distracted by what Mickey assumes to be his first love: the game.

The former X Factor star will release debut single Lighthouse on 1st July. The track is co-written by Sam Preston and James Flannigan. Inspired by Lucy’s journey across America aged 18 the song is an uplifting anthem.

Speaking about the track Lucy said, ‘Lighthouses are my good omen. When I was in the US and stuff went wrong, when I’d miss the last bus or I’d run out of money, I’d always see a lighthouse on a piece of paper, beer bottle or in real life then things would start getting better.’

In October Lucy will head out on the road for a headline UK tour calling at the following dates:

That’s right folks the fourth episode of the new season has just debuted and we’ve got another interview with one of the cast for you. This week we’re talking to Holly Holstein who plays the outrageous and fabulous Karen.

Holly tells us what to expect over the course of the second season, gives us an insight into how much she has in common with Karen, and tells us about her other projects.

How are you today? Where does this Q&A find you?

I’m doing great, thanks for asking! Aside from acting I do a little writing, and right now I’m sitting in a coffee shop working on a short series that I’m really excited about. And by “working on it” I mean I’m checking Facebook and Twitter and generally avoiding working on it. No matter how fun a project is, when I get down to the actual typing it’s like pulling teeth.

The second season of Bloomers is currently airing every Wednesday. What do we need to know about it?

It’s not for the squeamish! I like to think of this season as the season for vomit, masturbation, and tears. If you don’t like watching those things (and who doesn’t, really?) then you might want to just fast forward to the parts where I’m prancing around in my underwear. It happens every few minutes or so, so you won’t have to wait long.

During the first season your character Karen became known for her outrageous one-liners and healthy sexual appetite. What’s it like to play such a wild character?

So much fun! And “play” is the perfect term for it. There is something very childlike both in the way Karen bounces around and her lack of social filters, so when I’m Karen I’m very much playing around and having a blast. The only downside is the look of disappointment on people’s faces when they realize that I don’t act like her in real life. I don’t have nearly as many captivating sex stories and my adventures lean more toward the nerdtastic.

What can we expect from Karen this season? We can see from the episodes so far that she still steals every scene she’s in.

Yes, Karen, much like a tranny hooker strutting into an exclusive country club, always gets a reaction. This season is really exciting because she gets to go on lots of wacky adventures, mostly in reaction to her newly realized feelings for Vaughan. But she also has to work through issues with her sister, Clarissa, and now Francesca, who Karen sees as competition for Vaughan’s affections. She’s also going to wear lots of ridiculous outfits!

In the first season of the show Karen had to deal with the breakdown of her sister Clarissa’s marriage and rebuilding their relationship. How is their relationship going to evolve this season?

It’s two steps forward and one step back with these girls. One minute they’re sharing mimosas, the next they’re pulling each other’s hair out. (Not literally. Or do they?) They’re just like real sisters, really. But, when stuff gets really serious they know they’ve got each other’s back.

Has there been a time yet when you’ve received a script and been surprised at the things you’re going to have to say and do?

Matt warns me before I get the script, so I’m pretty well prepared by the time I see it on paper. I do chuckle when I read it out loud for the first time, though. And the second… and the third. And sometimes it’s difficult to get through the lines without blushing. An episode about pooing out Indian food? Of course he thought of that! Nothing that Matt comes up with surprises me anymore. I’ve come to realize that his imagination surpasses the farthest reaches of the universe, or whatever’s even bigger than the universe. What would that be? Matt would know.

Do you see a time when Karen may calm down a little and fancy settling down?

Deep down I think Karen likes the idea of settling down. I don’t think it would last, though. I think she’d get bored quick. I can see her at fifty, still chasing 25 year olds and having a ball. Maybe married and divorced a few times.

Tell us how you got involved with Bloomers.

I know Matt from Prehistoric times. He’s actually one of the first people I met in LA. I’ve learned to say yes to everything he suggests because I’m either going to learn something amazing or go on an awesome adventure, so when he asked me to be in Bloomers the “Yes!!!” spilled out of my mouth before I even knew what I was getting myself into. And Bloomers has brought both tons of learning and awesome adventures so far!

It seems like the cast get on really well off-screen. Does that help create the chemistry that we see on-screen?

It sure doesn’t hurt! How awful would it be if we were all laughing and joking off-camera and then when the director yelled “action!” we all turned into automatons! That’s a word, right? Like the talking people and animals on Disney rides? Actually, that’s a pretty cool idea. Hold on, I’ve got to go pitch that to Matt for season 3!

What other projects do you have coming up this year?

I’m really hustling to finish writing a couple scripts this year, ideally this summer. I hope to produce one of them. As far as acting, I usually have no clue what I’ll be working on until it comes up. In my experience it’s been pretty last minute. Someone calls up for an audition or an indie project they want you to do that’s happening the next day, and then it’s over and gone before you know it.

Multi-talented superstar Jennifer Lopez, will be making her UK comeback with her latest track ‘Live It Up’, British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding will be performing a medley of her recent releases ‘Explosions’ and ‘Anything Can Happen’, America’s sweetheart Demi Lovato with her new single ‘Heart Attack’ and heartthrob Olly Murs singing his album title track ‘Right Here Right Now’. Plus last year’s winners Ashleigh and Pudsey will be making an unmissable appearance.

Each night will see nine of our final 45 acts perform live in the hope of winning the public vote. The act with the highest number of public votes will automatically go through to the live grand final and the two runners-up will then face the judges who will pick their favourite to accompany them.

The live final will be on Saturday 8th June, when it will be revealed which act viewers have picked to win a life changing £250,000 and a spot at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

With more exciting guest performers to be revealed and the wide variety of talent displayed by the Britain’s Got Talent acts, this year’s live shows are shaping up to be the most thrilling yet.

The live semi-finals start on Monday 27th May from 7.30pm-9pm, with the results show at 9.30pm. They are then stripped across the week on Tuesday 28th May, Thursday 30th May, Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June.
