BBC Worldwide and UMC have come together to celebrate one of Britain’s most iconic TV shows, Top of the Pops, and over four decades of the greatest ever pop songs. Spread over eight era-defining albums, they will be released in the UK on 2nd September 2016 and you could win a full set!

From the Supremes classic ‘Baby Love’, originally released in April 1964, through to Gnarls Barkley’s 2006 international chart dominator ‘Crazy’, these eight triple CD sets celebrate and reflect the music that featured throughout this iconic and culturally important TV show and defined the British charts.
First broadcast on 01 January 1964, the regular weekly show came to an end in 2006, although the annual Christmas edition is still as much a part of the nation’s festivities as roast turkey and the Queen’s Speech. The show has also gained a following from weekly repeats on BBC Four, with editions of Top of the Pops 1982 currently airing.
Each album comes branded with a much-loved, instant-nostalgia-inducing, ever-evolving TOTP logo and each features in excess of 55 tracks. The track list of each album is like a journey back in time to a specific era, and the series itself tells the story of Britain’s love affair with pop music.
Just some of the great artists featured include: Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Jones, Marvin Gaye, Barry White, ABBA, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Roxy Music, Kate Bush, Blondie, The Jam, Earth Wind & Fire, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, The Human League, Wham!, Tina Turner, Simple Minds, Soul II Soul, R.E.M., Duran Duran, The Cure, Seal, New Order, The Beautiful South, Hanson, Texas, Paul Weller, Oasis, Craig David, Stereophonics, Take That, Outkast and Girls Aloud.
This is a new partnership for UMC and BBC Worldwide/Top of the Pops. UMC have pulled together track lists from Universal’s substantial music catalogue and numerous other record labels in order to give the best possible representation of the cultural importance of the show. More products and Top of the Pops branded merchandise will be announced in the near future.
All albums are released on 02 September 2016 on CD, download and streaming.
