Online ecommerce giant Amazon has acquired fantasy audio masterpiece The Minister of Chance, marking a step into the mainstream for the multi award-winning podcast series. Initially funded by writer/creator Dan Freeman’s overdraft, a dazzlingly accomplished script and filmic production values ensured its completion through crowdfunding. A stellar cast includes Jenny Agutter, Jed Brophy, Lauren Crace, Paul Darrow, Philip Glenister, Tamsin Greig, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann and theatrical legend Julian Wadham as the titular Minister. The epic tale has an effervescent worldwide fanbase (fans are known as ‘Chancers’) and a movie version is in pre-production.
Producers Radio Static launched their latest podcast The Light of September – also featuring Sylvester McCoy and Tamsin Greig – on 4th February, which is again available on iTunes.
