Pop singer-songwriter Ke$ha has just unleashed her new album Warrior across the globe on the back of the huge success of lead single Die Young. Not content with dominating the charts, she’s also releasing her first book My Crazy Beautiful Life. The book isn’t really an autobiography, more of a photo journal of her career to date packed with plenty of never-before-seen photos of Ke$ha on and off-stage.
My Crazy Beautiful Life opens with an intro from Ke$ha where she talks about how her rapid rise to fame has changed her life. She tells you that with the book she aims to paint a more complete picture of her life revealing the bad as well as the good. She also reinforces the oft-said statement that fame isn’t always as glamorous as it appears to us outsiders.
The book opens with pictures of Ke$ha as a youngster and she talks about her upbringing and her famous songwriter mother Pebe Sebert. She then moves on to her teenage years and her first big break with Flo Rida’s Right Round. From that point on Ke$ha’s fame really took off and the success started to build as she released debut single Tik Tok and smashed charts across the world. From this point on the book documents Ke$ha’s success in both words and photos as she travelled the world in promotion of her debut album Animal and the companion EP Cannibal.
The book’s latter half sees Ke$ha sharing photos from a well-deserved holiday before returning back to the studio to record Warrior. She talks openly of the team around her including songwriter and producer Dr Luke and you get the sense that Ke$ha likes to work with her team as if they are a family. From all the photos and Ke$ha’s words you can see the fondness she has for them all and it’s clear she’s grateful for the part they have played in launching her into a worldwide star.
My Crazy Beautiful Life will be a must-have present this Christmas for Ke$ha fans. Even if you think you know her story, you’ve never heard it from Ke$ha’s point of view until now. Open, honest and as frank as you’d expect My Crazy Beautiful Life is a good representation of the real Ke$ha. Sure she likes to party but clearly there’s a lot more going on behind-the-scenes than most people would realise. She’s certainly no pop puppet and she’s determined to rule the world with her music.
