On the latest episode of Blindspot, Tasha (Audrey Esparza) found herself in prison.
After the cliffhanger from last episode, Tasha had been sent down. In the prison, she joined the other female prisoners in bright orange prison clothes. It quickly became apparent which prisoners were in charge as they bullied a woman called Devon (Ronda Rousey).
They took her toothbrush and toothpaste off her so Tasha offered hers to Devon but was turned down. Later Tasha saw the other girls picking on Devon again so stepped in to help. A brawl broke out and the guards had to step in to break it up.
Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) paid Tasha a visit and saw she was beat up. It was then revealed that they had placed her there on purpose. Her mission was to get close to Devon, a Sandstorm member. Her boyfriend was Parker, one of Shepherd’s top men.
Devon was later stabbed by one of the bullies. Weller wanted to get them both out but it was unlikely that Devon would agree to help the FBI. Tasha had the idea to break Devon out of prison and went against Weller when he said no. This forced the team into trying to help her best they could.
Patterson identified an escape route out of the hospital but they needed to cut the power. Weller was sent in as a repairman and had to take out a guard to accomplish his task. This gave three minutes before the backup generator kicked in which would re-electrify the fence.
During the escape attempt the bullies slowed them down and a new fight broke out. When they eventually got away the fence was back on. Jane (Jaimie Alexander) rushed to the scene and sniped the backup generator to destroy it, just in time. Tasha and Devon got over the fence and escaped in a waiting getaway car.
Devon made a call to her boyfriend to help and used a secret code to tell him where to meet. The FBI were monitoring the call and didn’t immediately realise there was a code being used.
When they arrived, Parker recognised Tasha and was kidnapped. She was knocked unconscious and put in the car boot. Patterson was able to track Tasha using a phone that she had on her person.
Parker hoped to use Tasha to bargain for Weller which would please Shepherd. Weller and Jane arrived to find a trap set for them. Tasha was tied to a chair on a pressure plate rigged with a bomb. Under fire, Weller manage to free her and then place a fridge in her place as she jumped off, without the bomb going off.
Parker ended up shooting Devon in the shoulder as she fought with Jane. Weller managed to sneak up on Parker and knocked him out. The pair were taken into custody.
At the FBI, Parker wasn’t giving up any information. An angry Tasha spoke with Weller and demanded to ignore their normal rules. She wanted a chance at Parker and promised she’d have him talking in no time. She pleaded that it was the only way to get ahead of Sandstorm but Weller wanted to stay inside the law.
Elsewhere in the episode, Weller pulled Patterson (Ashley Johnson) in after finding she was spending her nights at work. He was angry because he couldn’t afford for her to burn out. She promised to stop and he booked her a meeting with Dr. Sun.
Roman (Luke Mitchell) pushed Jane to tell Weller that he killed Emma, Taylor Shaw’s mother. They had kept it secret for weeks so she finally told him. Weller was devastated that she had kept it from him and he angrily confronted Roman about it too. Weller wasn’t sure that he could get past it.
At the end of the episode, Jane returned home to Roman making dinner. He slipped with a knife and cut his finger. He said it was nothing but she insisted that he run it under the tap while she grabbed the first aid kit.
As she helped clean it up, Roman had a flashback to Jane wiping his memory. He flipped because she previously led him to believe that Shepherd was the one responsible. The episode finished as he tried to attack her with the knife.
