Blindspot 2×19 Regard a Mere Mad Rager preview

On the latest episode of Blindspot, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team found themselves under investigation by the Department Of Justice.

The episode opened at a foster home where a girl called Amber had an argument with a boy named Eli. Their foster carer broke the argument up and they headed upstairs. Shortly after a scream was heard and Amber was lying dead in a pool of blood outside. Apparently she had falled from an upstairs window.

At the FBI, Matthew Weitz (Aaron Abrams) returned to carry out the DOJ investigation. He wanted the entire team to make themselves available for him.

Meanwhile, Patterson (Ashley Johnson) solved another tattoo that led to a non-profit called Life Prospect. They were behind the funding of the foster home from the start of the episode. At the foster home, the team found Amber’s body outside where it had landed. The rest of the children and the mom had gone.

Weitz began his questioning with Patterson while the rest of the team headed off to the foster home. Patterson was questioned a lot about Borden as well as decisions that Weller had made.

Eli was spotted on CCTV trying to steal a phone. Before the team headed out again, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) appealed for Roman (Luke Mitchell) to be included. Weller was unsure but Nas (Archie Panjabi) thought it would be a good idea.

The team tracked Eli to the house of his music teacher. Patterson pursued her on line of inquiry and discovered that Amber’s body was stolen from the morgue.

Eli refused to talk but Roman suggested giving him a pipe instrument they had taken off him. Doing so helped get a few details from Eli about how the kids were all given pills by their foster mom. He showed them a pill he had kept hidden in his instrument.

When Weitz spoke with Weller he focused on the Shepherd connection. Weller still didn’t know why Shepherd paid for his education or why she is interested in him. Patterson found the pill contained unusual compounds. She wondered if they were being used to test new medications.

The pill helped them track down the doctor with the help of Eli. He was with the foster mom and the other kids preparing some kind of final injection. The team traced his phone and raided the building. The mom was arrested and in the chaos Roman managed to get all the kids to safety.

Back at the FBI, Weller prepared to take full responsibility to end Weitz’s investigation. Before he managed to do so Nas stepped up and beat him to it. Weller wasn’t happy about it but it was taken out of his hands. Nas passed on some new information before she left.

Elsewhere in the episode, Reade (Rob Brown) found himself hospitalised after his beating from the drug dealers last episode. In hospital he shared a room with an ex-solider guy named Travis.

Travis tried to talk with Reade but at first he wasn’t interested. Travis wondered if Reade was maybe suffering from PTSD like himself. Eventually Reade opened up a little about his situation. Travis advised him to confront the tape to save worrying about what might be on there. Once he’d seen it he would be able to manage and contain it.

Later, once he was home, Reade called Tasha (Audrey Esparza) to come around. He asked her if she would sit and watch the tape with him and she agreed. Hopefully this is a sign of Reade sorting himself out.

At the end of the episode, we saw Shepherd in Bangkok doing a deal. $20 million bought her a truck full of radioactive material. Apparently it was the last thing Sandstorm needed for Phase 2.

The next episode is Regard a Mere Mad Rager and here’s the official synopsis:

Jane and Weller go undercover on a high-stakes scavenger hunt run by powerful hackers to obtain some classified documents.
