The fifth and final season of Bates Motel kicks off in the UK on Tuesday night and it promises to be the darkest season of the show.
When we last saw Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) he was pretending that his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga) was still alive even though White Pine Bay knew she was dead. Chick (Ryan Hurst) discovered that Norman had preserved Norma’s body and realised that Norman wasn’t living in reality.
Romero (Nestor Carbonell) attempted to bring Norman down but was arrested by the DEA for perjury.
Meanwhile Dylan (Max Thieriot) and Emma (Olivia Cooke) moved away from town to start a new life together and were completely unaware that Norma was dead.
The first episode of the final season is Dark Paradise. Norman attempts to keep up appearances after making an unsettling discovery. Dylan and Emma receive an unexpected guest.
